"Hey Mrs. Teeritz, Would Your Husband Like A Couple Of Typewriters?"





Here's my daughter, furiously working towards a deadline on the first edition of  "The Cloud Pop Times". One key at a time.


Here's a type sample from her machine. Ribbon needs replacing.

And here's a type sample. I'm not a fan of 'techno' or robot fonts. A little too moderen for my tastes.
 
 
And so, I'm happy to report that these two typewriters have indeed been put to good use. There was a day a couple of weeks ago and the sound of typewriters clacking away could be heard throughout the entire house. My wife was working on a short story on her computer.
"Quite the literary family", she quipped.

    Oh, nice. I would be over the moon with a gift like that! I wish Ms Jane had free typewriters come home with her?

      I wish it was my desk. It's my son's. I got it from a Salvos Store for $75. I'm always on the lookout for a nice roll-top desk. One day...

      $75?! Oh, too good.
      Ms Jane has become obsessed with getting a drop-down desk lately. My 1920's table is enough for me though.

    Nifty!

    I love the title "Cloud Pop Times." My daughter used to produce a magazine called "The Yay" (also nondigital). Now she's chatting online all the time. You've got to expose them to the analogue world while they're young.

    Does the typosphere have its own superstitions yet? I say having a techno font is Good Luck for collectors. Now I want to haul out mine again.

      Sorry gents, but, to me, techno font conjures up images of early 1980s bank statements, electricity bills and government correspondence, not to mention those Reader's Digest letters that stated I had a CHANCE of winning a million dollars if I took out a subscription. A very...uh...'beige' era.

    Nice haul! Brothers have displaced Smith-Coronas as the "common-as-dirt" machines I like to see show up at Thrift Stores. I just wish they would show up more often. :D
