Great, Thailand is such an exciting place to visit. I hope you're an adventurous eater and sample the cuisine (you have to take pics of the food!). It would be a a shame if you end up eating hotel food or Burger King! Safe trip, Teeritz.
I spent several months in Thailand in 1990 (Chiang Mai mostly, but also went to Bangkok). You can find anything in Bangkok, including a typewriter, but it can take hours of hassle, sweat, and exhaust fumes. Easier, I say, to pack a small typer with you.
If you find a Thai-alphabet typewriter, now that would be worth shipping back home.
I would take along one I could stand to lose. In my case that's a bald SCM Corsair. But of course plan B is great - look for a souvenir! Plan C - ask at hotels and libraries, post offices, etc. if they have one you can use and type "dispatches" for us.

ReplyDeleteHave a grand adventure, good fellow! And may you find a beautiful Lettera 32 in a pawnshop next to the hotel for the equivalent of a dollar. (:
